VOSRC’s Team of Pet Cancer Professionals Is Here to Help
Dr. K. Ann Jeglum, a Charter Member of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Oncology, is nationally and internationally recognized for her work. Dr. Jeglum has an academic appointment at The Wistar Institute, a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer research facility in Philadelphia. Numerous translational clinical trials have been conducted at VOSRC in conjunction with The Wistar Institute. Her work has been published in international cancer journals, and one treatment modality, TALL-104, has been translated to the human bedside.
In addition to Dr. Jeglum, the medical oncology staff includes Dr. Donna Lindner and Dr. Victoria Nelson, both of whom have been practicing veterinary oncology for more than 10 years. In this challenging field, we believe this kind of experience leads to more successful treatment outcomes. Dr. Louis Snijders, our newest addition, joined the medical staff in 2008. Our surgical oncology team is headed by Dr. Dina Schofield, a board certified veterinary surgeon, who has a special interest in oncologic surgery. Dr. Lisa Suslak-Brown, our in-house, board-certified veterinary radiologist, offers ultrasound diagnostics and radiographic consultation.
Cardiology services by Dr. Miller are also available in West Chester.
Complete in-house diagnostic laboratory testing is available, including cytology and bone marrow interpretations, allowing same day diagnoses. Our West Chester location houses our research laboratory and is the home base of our research foundation.
We pride ourselves on a team approach when managing our cancer patients and tending to the needs of their families. All of our collaborators share the same philosophy of treating cancer. We do our best to attain remissions and to extend survival time. We always want to maintain a quality of life that allows each pet to live its normal daily lifestyle.
