Veterinary Comparative Oncology Research Foundation

Mission Statement

The Veterinary Comparative Oncology Research Foundation strives to combat cancer in companion animals as a model for human cancer types. Companion animals are an important member of a family’s home and develop spontaneous occurring cancers similar to humans. We will study the epidemiologic and genetic causes of cancer and research the implication these have on the treatment and prevention of disease. This will include clinical trials involving innovative therapies and techniques. We also intend to create a fund for sponsorship of patients who will benefit from chemotherapy or radiation therapy, but due to financial hardship may otherwise not receive treatment. We will also serve both the scientific and public community in education about cancer types, treatment options, and new methods for managing disease. The Veterinary Comparative Oncology Foundation is based in West Chester, Pennsylvania and is headed by K. Ann Jeglum, V.M.D., Charter Diplomate, American College Veterinary Internal Medicine, Oncology an established researcher in the field of veterinary oncology.
